Scouts are the third section of the Scouting movement. From the first experimental camp for 20 boys in 1907, the movement now has an estimated 28 million members worldwide, and in the UK alone there are over 499,000 boys and girls involved in Scouting. An increase in adult volunteers means that more and more young people are now able to take part in their own big adventure.

There is an exhaustive list of fun activities on land, water and in the air, in which Scouts can participate but they will also be engaging with their local community, exploring faiths and beliefs, keeping fit, being creative and learning about different cultures and environments around the world.

All of our groups in the district have a Scout Troop so go ahead and take a look at our groups.

Uniform

The minimum requirement for Scout uniform for most groups is an official Scouts teal green long sleeved shirt or blouse, navy blue activity trousers or skirt, leather scout belt and buckle, a group scarf and a woggle (supplied by the group on enrollment). Some groups requirement may vary though so speak to the leader before buying uniform.

Uniform can be bought from the official Scout Shop.

If you need to know where the badges go on the uniform you can download this diagram.
