Remembrance 2015

8th November 2015

Remembrance 2015

Today each of our groups took part in Remembrance services in their own communities in honour of all those who gave their lives for their country.

All across the Weald District Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Adult Leaders donned their uniforms and a poppy and headed for their local church or memorial to show their respects.  This year marks both the 70th anniversary of WWII and the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

It is important for our young people to take an active part in these ceremonies so that they gain an understanding of the sacrifices that previous generations have made and why future wars should be avoided at all costs.
